PEN NFTs are special NFTs of KALA Network that can be obtained from our mystery box or from the marketplace. Owning either will allow users to increase their KUDO earnings from Social Mining on the KALA platform.
Upgrade your pen using $KLNW or $KUDO to earn faster and more from social mining. Upgrading your pen will also give you the chance to open our mystery box with various rewards.
Your PEN will degrade if you have been using it for too long and you'll have to replace its NIB using $KUDO
These NFTs are impressive artwork that can be used as collectibles but they also benefit owners when they earn on KALA SocialFi platform. You can collect, level up, and craft these PEN NFTs to improve their effectiveness or create new better NFTs.

How to get PEN NFTs
PEN NFTs can be obtained by purchasing on NFT marketplaces or opening mystery boxes you earn from staking KLNW.

PEN NFTs are both utility NFTs and collectibles. This means you can choose to buy, trade, and sell them on NFT marketplaces from other users.

Social Mining (Socialize To Earn)
On KALA Network, users can earn KUDO by performing familiar social activities. These include login into KALA, liking posts, commenting, inviting friends, .etc.
Everyone with an account on KALA Social can enjoy Social Mining for free. Users who own KALA PEN NFTs, which are the NFTs that you earn from our mystery box or buy from marketplaces, will receive benefits to boost their gain from Social Mining and maximize their earnings.
PEN NFTs also represent the "KALA ownership" which is linked to our own governance token KLNW and SocialFi token KUDO.
PEN Zodiac Sign
Each PEN belongs to a Zodiac sign. This purely acts as a classifier for the NFTs. There are 12 zodiac signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
PEN Element
Each PEN is assigned a rarity. These rarities are based on the Five Elements: Water, Fire, Earth, Wood, and Metal with Water being the most common and Fire the rarest. The higher the PEN’s rarity the higher its attributes.
The element of your PEN NFT when you open a box is as follow. Water 72%, Earth 12%, Wood 6%, Metal 6%, Fire 4%.
PEN Upgrade
Users can upgrade their PEN when we deem that they have made enough contributions to the KALA SocialFi platform. Your contribution will be tracked using a social scoring system. Once you have made enough contributions and attained a certain social score, you can then upgrade your PEN to the next tier. The process repeats until you have reached the highest tier.
Social Score
Your score increases when you met a criterion. Each will require you to achieve a specific goal in a specific amount of time.
Below are the criteria that will affect your social score (the criteria are subject to change). The scoring algorithm will not be disclosed to avoid system abuse.
